Cherokee County Man Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to investigate an officer-involved fatal shooting late Wednesday night near Hulbert.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to investigate an officer-involved fatal shooting late Wednesday night near Hulbert.

The OSBI says a Cherokee County Sheriff's deputy was investigating a noise complaint at a home on West 790 Road just before midnight when someone inside the home fired a gun at the deputy.

The deputy returned fire, killing the shooter, identified as 56-year-old Richard Ogg.

The name of the deputy has not been released.
