An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper is being commended for saving the life of a passenger involved in a rollover crash at the Nowata-Rogers County line Wednesday afternoon.

The OHP says an SUV heading south on U.S. Highway 169 had driven off the highway and rolled over into a ditch filled with water.

The trooper, Scott Shropshire, was nearby and responded when he heard the emergency call.  He found the SUV's passenger wedged between the front driver's seat and a window pillar.
