A heads up for drivers in Tulsa who plan to use Peoria at I-44 on Saturday and Sunday.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has closed the north and southbound lanes of Peoria at I-44 as crews remove the old highway bridge.
Peoria closed Friday and reopen 6 a.m. on Monday.
The demolition is part of the overall widening project along the I-44 corridor in Tulsa.
"The key with this project this weekend, with the bridge demolition is going to be that Peoria is already narrowed down to one lane through there, so if you have to be down there, make sure extra time is planned," said Kenna Mitchell of ODOT.
