Champagne corks were popping throughout downtown as Tulsans rang in the New Year. Twenty thousand people were expected for the festivities in the Blue Dome District.
New Year's has been celebrated on Brookside the last few years, but this year, organizers moved "The Party" to Blue Dome to change things up and reflect how much downtown Tulsa is changing and growing.
The hope was that the crowds at all the bars and restaurants in Blue Dome and the Brady District would trickle over to a huge street party on Second Street.
Revelers were expected to hear the local band Sucker Punch performing at a grandstand on 2nd and Elgin.
Those wanting to escape the crowds can partake at a VIP party indoors at 2nd and Frankfort with plenty of food and drinks.
But the main event everyone was waiting for: when the clock strikes midnight, an art-deco ball featuring symbols of Tulsa dropped into a flashing 2012 sign. At the same time, fireworks lit up the sky.
So there really was something for everyone.
We also heard people talking about their New Year's Resolutions and really get into the party spirit.
