Funeral services were held Friday for a Muskogee toddler killed just before Christmas.
Two-year-old Ja'cion Logan died from a gunshot wound last week. His funeral was held at Harvest Ministries Church, located at 2200 East Okmulgee Avenue in Muskogee.
"He was one of the most happy, go-lucky kids in the world," a family friend said.
Loved ones say Ja'cion had a big smile and loved to play around, wrestle with his brothers, eat popsicles, vacuum the floor and rake the leaves outside.
"For something like this to happen, you see, it destroys everybody," he said.
During the funeral, Ja'cion's mom collapsed into tears when a slideshow of her baby boy began.
In a eulogy, a pastor who is also related to Ja'cion talked about what many in the room were already thinking: retaliation
"Whatever you get tied up in, it won't bring him back," Reverand David Ragsdale said. "Whenever you go out and want to take somebody else's life, it will not bring him back."
Elbert Meeks, 21, is charged with the boy's murder. Court documents say Meeks shot Ja'cion in the head as he tried to break into a home. His next court appearance is set for January 11, 2012.
Meeks is also charged in another shooting that happened earlier in the month.
