Magazine Names Tulsa School Superintendent 'Tulsan Of The Year'

The superintendent of Tulsa Schools is TulsaPeople's Tulsan of the Year. Dr. Keith Ballard is profiled in the magazine's January issue.

The accomplishment that promoted him to the city's top spot: the Project Schoolhouse initiative.

"This year one Tulsan clear stood atop the list of those who have made a distinctive impact on our city, and that was Dr. Keith Ballard," said Jim Langdon, publisher of TulsaPeople.

"He has been the catalyst for change leading Tulsa Public Schools to efficiently and effectively offer students an improved educational experience with the goal of raising graduation rates and inspiring career readiness."

Ballard has been in education for almost four decades as a teacher, administer and superintendent. He joined TPS as superintendent in 2008.
