Thanks to help from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Cherokee County authorities located the body of a missing Tahlequah woman Thursday afternoon.

Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chenault says Karen Marsh, 53, was last seen on the evening of Tuesday December 13, 2011, leaving her apartment complex in her car.

Marsh's car was abandoned in the Sparrow Hawk Mountain area, near the Illinois River and State Highway 10.

Chenault says the OHP put up their airplane and spotted her body about a mile where her car was found.

He says it appears she died of natural causes, that it looks like she went walking, became disoriented and couldn't get back to her car.

The state Medical Examiner's office will now work to determine the cause of death.
