The University of Tulsa football team announced Wednesday that mid-year junior college transfer Davis Walton has been admitted to the university.
The Tulsa native will begin classes in January and will also be able to participate in the Golden Hurricane's spring training.
Walton, a 6'5 285 pound offensive lineman comes to TU after playing the last two season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
He was a starter at tight end as a freshman and spent his sophomore season as the starting offensive tackle.
This season Walton earned second-team all-conference honors and graded out at an average of 86 percent for the nine-game season.
Walton was also a three-year letterwinner at Tulsa's Bishop Kelley High School. There he played defensive end and earned all-district honors his senior season at the tight end position.
The Golden Hurricane football team is currently preparing for its Dec. 30 Armed Forces Bowl game against BYU at 11 a.m. in Dallas.
