‘Tis the season for angel trees. I found a different kind of angel tree at The Farm Shopping Center. A doggie angel tree.
The Dog Dish in The Farm has a Doggie Angel Tree inside their store. The tree is decorated with pictures of dogs available for adoption from Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue.
"This is something that's been done a lot for people, but in this case we are doing it for dogs," said Christina Guerra.
Christina Guerra and her friends started the group about a year ago, and they've been very busy. Legacy of Hope is actively preparing and sending adoptable dogs to other states.
"Every dog we get gets a veterinary check-up, if it's sick, we take care of it, and we treat it. We make sure they are all vaccinated, spayed and neutered, microchipped and de-wormed. So everything they need to have done, we do it," Guerra said.
She says they are one of the few groups who will take in Pit bulls.
So here's the deal--see a dog on the angel tree you might want to help, all the information you need to contact the group is on the card.
The Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue has angel trees in several locations in Tulsa Broken Arrow and Muskogee.
