The City of Tulsa opened bids in early October from contractors interested in providing trash service for the next decade.
The bids are still being reviewed. Once that is done, a committee will recommend a contractor, and the specifics of the service, to the city of Tulsa's Authority for the Recovery of Energy (TARE) board.
The city says Tulsa is required by state law to competitively bid its trash collection and disposal contract.
TARE cannot continue to renew the existing contract, which has been in place for more than 30 years. The committee is looking at several things in the bids including….
