A Tulsa resident is a finalist in a nation design contest to promote the American Jobs Act. Jeff Rogers' poster is one of 12 selected by over 1,000 entries to make the finals.

"I was excited to see such a high-profile opportunity opened up to the general public and not just high-profile designers in New York, Washington or Chicago. Politics aside, I am proud to show the nation that Tulsa's creativity is equal to that of any place in the country," Rogers said.

Artists were asked to design posters using slogans like:

  • Fighting for jobs
  • Get America back to work
  • Rebuilding America
  • Made in the USA
  • Hire America's veterans
  • Support small businesses
  • More jobs for teachers
  • We believe in the American dream

Rogers' poster illustrates the slogan "Rebuilding America" by using the Stars and Stripes in a construction theme.

Public voting began November 28. Check into the voting web site after that date to vote for your favorite poster. The three top picks will receive a framed copy of their poster signed by President Barack Obama.
