Tulsa's Kinne Honored By Conference-USA

University of Tulsa senior G.J. Kinne has been named the Conferece-USA offensive player of the week after leading the Golden Hurricane to its seventh straight victory Saturday over UTEP.

Kinne led TU to a convincing 57-28 road win over UTEP by completing 21-of-27 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns. The Golden Hurricane offense tallied 500 yards of total offense in the win and Kinne rushed three times for a total of 33 yards and one score.

The senior from Mesquite, Texas threw touchdowns for nine, 53 and 27 yards. To start the game, Kinne led Tulsa on two consecutive scoring drives covering 81 and 79 yards to give the Hurricane a 14-0 lead with less than eight minutes off the first quarter clock.

On the season Kinne has completed 209-of-319 passes for 2,683 yards and 24 touchdowns.

This week's defensive player of the week honor went to Houston's Sammy Brown and the special teams recognition went to Rice's Christ Boswell.

TU's next test comes Friday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. against Houston.
