An Oklahoma City man was arrested in Florida last week just hours after allegedly robbing a St. Augustine bank.
St. Augustine Police and St. Johns Sheriff's deputies say 65-year-old Robert Sherley is accused of walking into the Wells Fargo bank in St. Augustine and demanded money from a teller, saying he had a gun.
A search of the area turned up the red-dye money. Shortly after that, police and deputies saw a man matching the robber's description riding a bicycle and took him into custody.
Police say a search of Robert Sherley's motel room turned up clothes he had apparently wore during the robbery. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana in the room.
Sherley is being held on complaints of robbery and possession of marijuana.
