TULSA, Oklahoma -- Apple fanatics in Tulsa stood in line early Friday morning hoping to get their hands on the newest iPhone model.
Lines started forming before midnight and continued to grow until Woodland Hills Mall opened at 6 a.m.
Around 50 people waited inside and outside to be one of the first to get the iPhone 4S at the mall's Apple store.
"I preordered the phone, but I wanted to be one of the first in line on release day," said iPhone owner Tami Beyersdoerfer. "In the past, they've sold out and I want to make sure I get one today."
"Siri will revolutionize the way we interact with our phones," said Joe Watkins. "I'm also looking forward to the new camera I'll have with me at all times."
The new model looks similar to the previous iPhone4, but has an upgraded camera, faster processor and highly-regarded voice-activated software, which allows users to ask questions.
The Woodland Hills Mall store opened at 6 a.m. and began distributing the new iPhones at 8 a.m.
