TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Cascia Hall Commandos were dominant yet again Thursday and netted coach Joe Medina his 200th career win with a 31-14 win over the Berryhill Chiefs. With the win, the Commandos have now scored 320 points, while allowing just 32 points through six games.
Cascia Hall wasted no time taking a lead, thanks to a three-yard touchdown run by Patrick Bass less than two minutes into the game.
Berryhill put together a long drive, but was stopped on a fourth-down attempt on Cascia Hall's 13-yard line. The Commandos responded with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Rouse to Luke Moellers to take a 14-0 lead.
With less than two minutes left to play in the first half and still leading by two scores, Rouse connects with Bass for a 33-yard screen to take a three-score advantage with just 1:49 left in the half. However, an interception by Danny Brennan set up a four-yard touchdown pass from Rouse to Conner Sherwood just 41 seconds later to take a 28-0 lead into halftime.
The Chiefs first score of the game came nearly eight minutes into the second quarter, a one-yard touchdown run by Adam Doland to cut into the Commandos' lead. Zack Johnson scored on a one-yard sneak with 9:35 left in the game to close the advantage to 14 points, but a 31-yard field goal with 1:21 left to play to close the door on the comeback.
The Commandos will now head to Kellyville to take on the 4-1 Ponies, while Berryhill will try to knock off Sperry at home.
