I am so grateful to all the folks who turned out for this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! It was awesome! I ended up with 200 people on my team but here's the big news, raised more than $12,000 for the cause. That's terrific. That's the most my team has ever raised. Thanks to all those who donated.
Now we turn out attention to October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Get ready for pink power! From restaurants like Applebee's taking donations, to Panera's Pink Ribbon bagels, to football stadiums and their pink-outs, everyone's doing their part. If you're involved in anything PINK, I urge you to stay pictures and send them to our share channel. We'd love to see them and maybe put a few on the air.
Send those to mailto: pics@newson6.net and put "Pink" in the subject line.
Then we'll head into November and that will be my 8th year as a survivor! I am blessed and so grateful to everyone who's supported the cause and me.
Remember, mammograms are still the best tool to help in early detection and that's the key. Please, schedule a mammogram today!
