MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Muskogee County judge has set a $100,000 bond for a Muskogee woman charged with eight counts of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Davanna Dotson, 20, is accused of running a multi-state adoption scam.

The Muskogee County District Attorney's Office says families looking to adopt a baby gave Dotson money after she promised them a baby who didn't exist.

Law enforcement officers are crediting a News On 6 investigation with prompting potential victims to come forward.  They say calls have poured in from across the country, all from adoptive parents with the same story.

On Wednesday, Dotson's attorney told the court she was not a flight risk and a judge in the case agreed, setting a $100,000 bond.

But the Muskogee County DA's Office has filed a motion to have the judge reconsider the bond decision.

As of Thursday morning, Dotson remained in the Muskogee County jail.

Another hearing in the case is set for Dotson for Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Muskogee County District Court.
