TULSA, Oklahoma -- On Saturday, athletes slogged their way through the mud in what is described as "3.2 hellish miles" in the Oklahoma Warrior Dash.

Part of Tulsa's Turkey Mountain was transformed Friday into an extreme obstacle course.  Crews put the finishing touches Friday on the 3-mile course that challenges competitors to overcome 12 obstacles.

It's everything from crawling through mud to jumping over fire.

"I get to get out there, not worry about getting a scrape or a bruise and, you know - just have fun and not worry about getting hurt or wondering what my mom is going say when I get home," said Alex Yount, Warrior Dash participant.

The first dash started at 8:30 a.m.
