HENRYETTA, Oklahoma -- An apartment fire in Henryetta left 19 families without a home early Monday morning. Tulsa Red Cross is helping the families after the blaze at the apartment complex at 4th and Gentry.

Some of the victims escaped with only the clothes they were wearing, according to Red Cross spokes person Donita Quesnel.

Henryetta resident Todd Rosson was in the area visiting a relative. He's a former resident of the complex.

"It's been chaos," he said. "A lot of elderly people live in these, and I feel sorry for them.

"A lot of them's lost everything they own."

The Red Cross opened a shelter at the Church of Christ, 1413 S. Broadway in Henryetta, providing food and lodging. They are also giving financial assistance to the fire victims.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
