GLENPOOL, Oklahoma – There's a difference on this year's Glenpool Warriors football team, and the players were the first ones to take notice.
While some said last year's team might have been a little bit distanced from each other, this year everybody is coming together as one.
And as one, they will look to return Glenpool back to their not-so-distant past glory days.
The Warriors won four straight district titles at one point, the final of which happened several years ago. And this year's seniors got to experience it.
Players like senior Drake Stevens want to bring that feeling back again.
Stevens plays a unique combination for the Warriors of defensive lineman and wide receiver.
When asked which position better suited him, Stevens said it would be too hard to choose.
"Offense you get the glory of a touchdown or something, defense you get a sack or a tackle," he said. "I'm just happy about playing both."
News On 6's Bobby Lewis hit the road to Glenpool to take in some practice and ask the players and coaches about their upcoming season.
Coach Steve Edwards and his Warrior squad will open the season with tough opponents in Berryhill and Cascia Hall.
