TULSA, Oklahoma -- A woman is dead following an auto-pedestrian crash at the intersection of 41st and Yale Wednesday morning.

Tulsa Police say the woman in her late 50s or early 60s was walking west across Yale when she was struck by a southbound pickup truck.

The crash happened 50 to 75 from the crosswalk, according to Officer Jason Willingham.

"Obviously a tragic set of circumstances," Willingham said, adding that the crosswalks are a safety factor that "possibly could have saved her life."

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. EMSA transported the woman in critical condition to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Her name has not been released.

Tulsa Police continue to investigate the crash.
