EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma National Guard says two funerals will be held this week for two Oklahoma National Guard soldiers killed in Afghanistan at the end of July.

The funeral for Private 1st Class Augustus Vicari of Broken Arrow will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Cedar Lake , Indiana.

And the funeral for 2nd Lt. Jered Ewy of Edmond will be held at the Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond on Thursday, August 11, 2011.

Both Vicari and Ewy were killed on July 29, 2011 by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Janak Kheyl, Afghanistan.

Ewy was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, headquartered in Vinita and Vicari was a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, headquartered in Sand Springs.
