CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Customers in the Creek County Rural Water District #2 are being asked to conserve water usage after a break in the supply line from Sapulpa.

The City of Sapulpa has experienced a major water break near the railroad tracks by the Verallia glass plant.

"The city water we use for our process has put us out of production," said Verallia plant manager Steve Cedoz. The company manufactures glass for beer and soda industries.

"Right now we're just maintaining cooling for our critical systems."

Sapulpa is one of the three main sources for Rural Water District #2, according to a spokesperson.

The glass plant has had to close down production. The leak was first reported at about 5 a.m., the company present told the News On 6, and has yet to be located.

The City of Sapulpa does not have an estimated time for repairs, the Rural Water District #2 spokesperson said.
