Crews Battle Grass Fire Near Sperry

SPERRY, Oklahoma -- Firefighters are battling a grass fire near Sperry.

The fire broke out just after 12 p.m. Monday in the 5500 block of 41st west Avenue.

Several cars are also reportedly on fire.

A News On 6 Skycam caught heavy black smoke billowing into the air.

It's unknown how the fire started.  There's no word on any injuries.

The intense heat makes for dangerous conditions for firefighters.  Temperatures early Monday afternoon were already 105 degrees.
