TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa School Board will vote Monday night on whether or not to make Gilcrease Elementary a year-round school.
If the board approves the move, students at Gilcrease would return to school this Thursday, August 4, 2011.
The school would have shorter, more frequent breaks from class, giving students a chance to attend enrichment classes during those breaks.
Tulsa Public Schools says this isn't a last-minute decision. They've sent out letters to parents letting them know about Monday night's vote.
The district currently has five year-round schools that will start the year this Thursday.
