Edmond North Drops Guthrie

The Huskies beat the Bluejays to advance to the consolation game in the McGuinness Classic.

OKLAHOMA CITY—In second round action from the McGuinness Classic, the Edmond NorthHuskies beat Guthrie 65-55 to advance to the consolation title game.

The Bluejays got out to a good start and led 15-13 after the first quarter of play.

Then in the second, Edmond North outscored Guthrie 18-10 to take a 31-25 halftime lead.

In the second half Edmond North increased the lead by seven to go up 52-45 by the end of the third.

From there Edmond North didn’t look back and theHuskies outscored Guthrie again to take the 65-55 victory.

The loss is the second straight for Guthrie who will play again Saturday at 1:30 against Yukon for seventh place.

Edmond North moves on to play Norman for the consolation title at 3 p.m. Saturday.
