Heritage Hall Advances to State Final over Bethany
The Chargers will take on Kingfisher to try to win their second Gold Ball in three seasons.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- For the second time this season, the Bethany Bronchos gave Class 3A favorite Heritage Hall a run for its money.
Saturday, the Chargers came away with the 28-14 win to advance to the Class 3A State title game for a matchup with the Kingfisher Yellowjackets.
Heritage Hall got on the board early with a 23-yard touchdown pass from offensive tackle Markus Wakefield to Sterling Sheppard to take a 7-0 lead with less than three minutes into the first quarter. The Chargers added to the lead with a 20-yard Cooper Cloud touchdown strike to Quintaz Struble to extend the advantage to 14-0 90 seconds later.
The Bronchos got their offense going on the ensuing drive.
Quarterback Ryley Clayborn connected with Gage Diffee for a 71-yard touchdown to cut the Chargers’ lead to 14-6 halfway through the first quarter.
Two minutes into the second quarter, Devin Campbell punched it in from two yards out for Bethany to tie the game 14-14.
The Chargers would answer with a 27-yard touchdown pass from Cloud to Cale Courtney to take a 21-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Both teams remained scoreless in the third and well into the fourth quarter.
With 6:32 left to play, defensive tackle Markus Wakefield recovered a fumble in the end zone to give the Chargers a 14-point lead.
