OKLAHOMA CITY – The Newcastle Racers ended a two-game losing streak Friday with a 14-0 victory over the John Marshall Bears.
The Racers’ (5-3, 3-1) defense recovered from two bad outings in a row to record its first shutout of the season. In its previous two games, Newcastle gave up a total of 98 points.
Friday marked the second time this season that John Marshall (3-5, 1-4) has been shut out. The Bears will play a non-district game next week against Weatherford (1-7, 1-4), while Newcastle will face SeeWorth (0-7, 0-4).
