OKLAHOMA CITY – The Heritage Hall Chargers played without star Barry Sanders, Jr. Thursday, but they did not need him in a 42-12 rout over the John Marshall Bears.
Sanders missed the game with a sprained ligament in his right foot and wore a boot on the sidelines. He could miss more playing time, but the injury is not considered serious.
The Chargers (7-0, 3-0) continued their offensive roll without him, scoring at least 35 points for the sixth time this season. In its last four games, Heritage Hall has put up a total of 211 points.
Meanwhile, John Marshall (3-4, 1-3) continued to struggle putting points on the board. The Bears have put up just 104 total points all season and have scored more than 20 only twice.
Heritage Hall will face SeeWorth (0-5, 0-2) next week before moving on to face Bethany (5-1, 2-0) on Oct. 29 in a game that could decide the district champion. John Marshall will play Newcastle (4-2, 2-1) next week.
