VERDIGRIS, Oklahoma – Sperry scored 25 unanswered points in the second half to take down Verdigris 31-28.

The Pirates opened the third quarter down 28-6 and was sparked by a 93-yard kick return for a touchdown. Sperry then followed up with two key interceptions; one of those turnovers led to a touchdown.

Sperry has its first home game against Claremore-Sequoyah next Friday, while the Cardinals host Dewey.
