NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Davis family will be well-represented on the football field Thursday at Owen Field. Norman North will face off with rival Norman to kick off the new season.
The Norman North Timberwolves feature a pair of siblings and starters on the defense: defensive end Dan Davis and defensive tackle Jack Davis. Dan is the elder of the two and the senior leader for the Timberwolves, while Jack is a rising sophomore.
As you can imagine, the anticipation is building for Thursday night’s debut for the Davis brothers to play on the defensive line at the same time.
“To share that with him is like the biggest day of the year in our household,” Dan Davis said.
The two played together on a church league basketball team last year, which won the church league championship, but lining up side-by-side in a football game will be a first.
“We’ve never played together so it’s kind of like a different thing that we get to be together,” Jack Davis said.
The Davis brothers hope to keep the Timberwolves' winning streak intact against Norman. Norman North owns a four-game winning streak over the Tigers.
