For the second straight year the top high school football prospect in the state of Oklahoma will be headed across the Red River. Millwood cornerback Josh Turner committed to the University of Texas Saturday. He chose Texas over Oklahoma as well as two dozen other suitors.
“They have been on top,” Turner said via text message. “And it just felt like it was a great fit.”
The 6-foot, 180-pounder had several ups and downs in his recruiting. He had to cancel a couple trips to Austin because he could not find a ride. However, the Falcons junior does not foresee the distance becoming a problem.
“It’s not that far,” Turner said. “I had to cancel because of my mom’s work schedule.”
Turner has said he wants to be a cardiologist when his football career is over but does not know what his major will be at Texas.
