New Idabel Coach Corey Russell Suspended

IDABEL, Oklahoma -- Former Tulsa Central and new Idabel football coach Corey Russell has been suspended three games for violating recruiting rules according to the Tulsa World.

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association suspended the coach for providing housing to a player.

The newspaper reported the student in question is the son of an assistant Russell brought with him from Central to Idabel. Reportedly the assistant coach asked Russell if his son could live with him for a few days while he moved to Idabel.

Tulsa Central is also under investigation for possible use of an ineligible player.
