JENKS, Oklahoma -- Jenks running back Zack Langer committed to Tulsa Friday. He joins linebacker Trent Martin as the second Trojans player to commit for the Class of 2011. However, it was a former Trojan and current Golden Hurricane linebacker that was able to lean Langer towards TU.
"Jake (Alexander) had a big influence on me," Langer said. "He bugged me all the time about it. I really liked playing with him last year and it will be awesome to do it again."
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder said he was receiving interest from Stanford as well. However, his heart remained in familiar settings.
"Its just close to home and the coaches are really cool," Langer said. "I think I have a good chance of starting there."
Langer said he has not talked to the coaches about whether or not he will redshir his freshman year.
