SKIATOOK, Oklahoma -- Putnam City West strung together a late offensive flurry to grab a 53-41 victory over Muskogee to advance to the Class 6A semifinals.
PC West started the fourth quarter with a 35-31 lead, but Muskogee wouldn’t go quietly as they strung together a 15-4 run to take a 38-37 lead with six minutes left in the game.
Amric Fields came alive for the Patriots in the fourth quarter, scoring 10 of his 15 points in the closing period to help Putnam City West take back the lead. Fields shut the door for PC West with dunks on back-to-back possessions to emphatically close the game.
His partner in the post, Tyler Neal, led the Patriots in scoring with 17 points, while Dante Wartson led the Roughers with 17.
Putnam City West takes on Midwest City Friday at the Mabee Center.
