OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Roff Tigers grabbed their first boys’ basketball Gold Ball in school history with a 51-44 win over Red Oak Saturday.

Roff looked like it would be in control early after scoring a quick three points in the opening seconds of the game, but the Eagles responded.

Jordan Booth hit a long two to put Red Oak on the board six minutes into the game. On the Eagles’ next possession, Dwight Camp hit a jumper that put the Eagles on top.

Dylan Lemly answered for Roff to put the Tigers back on top.

Both teams traded buckets for the remainder of the first quarter and Roff ended the period leading 12-11.

Camp hit a 3-pointer to open the second quarter to ignite the crowd and put the Eagles on top 14-12, but Roff answered with a 7-2 run to retake the lead. The Tigers rode that wave and took a 27-25 lead into the locker room.

The third quarter was marred by turnovers and missed shots and neither team made a move to take over the game. The Tigers burned the last minute of the quarter on a single possession, but capped it off with a Lemly score from the paint.

The game came down to free throws after Roff took a 44-40 lead early in the fourth quarter, and Lemly and Parker were up to the challenge. The Tigers’ duo knocked down five straight from the charity stripe to close out the game.
