TULSA, Oklahoma – The Claremore Lady Zebras got 22 points from junior Jordan Schultz and outlasted a late charge to beat the Will Rogers Lady Ropers 43-31 Thursday night. The Zebras will advance in the regional round to play the Edison Lady Eagles.
Taylor Swift scored 10 points for Claremore and helped control the clock when Pryor pulled close in the fourth quarter.
Trailing 29-21 heading into the fourth quarter, Will Rogers started to find some life on offense. Ashley Jones worked inside for a clutch layup to cut the lead to five points. Later, she hit a deep three pointer to give the Lady Ropers hope.
Claremore cut out any hope of a Will Rogers comeback with a driving layup by Swift. The Lady Zebras have now won seven games in a row.
Kristy Carter scored 13 points for Will Rogers.
