GUTHRIE, Oklahoma -- Carl Albert slipped past Guthrie 48-46 Thursday night. The Titans improve to 14-6 while the Blue Jays fall to 13-7.
B.J. McDonald hit two free throws to give Guthrie a 46-45 lead with 1:43 left. It was the first time the Blue Jays had an advantage since leading 3-2 in first quarter.
Carl Albert led the game 48-46 with 3.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter, when Chauncey Dumas missed the first of two free throws for Guthrie. After missing the second foul shot a scramble ensued with the alternating possession going to the Blue Jays. A last second 3-point attempt for the Blue Jays was no good at the buzzer.
Carl Albert led 22-19 at halftime. J.T. Realmuto finished had 16 points and three other Titans had 10 points each.
Kentrell Brothers finished with a team-high 12 points for Guthrie.
The Carl Albert girls beat the Lady Jays 40-25 in the early game at Guthrie.
