Memorial Pulls Away From Booker T. Washington

The Chargers trailed the Hornets by double digits early, but eventually took over and pulled away.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- For the first six minutes of the Memorial-Booker T. Washington game, it was all Hornets. After that, it was all Memorial as the Chargers cruised to a 56-36 victory.

Cameron Downing led all players with 22 points and Adrien Anderson added 16 against his former team.

Booker T. Washington stunned the home crowd by jumping out to a 13-2 lead in the first six minutes. From there, the Chargers took charge and went on a 12-0 run. The Hornets added five points before the half, but Memorial went into the break with momentum and a 19-18 lead.

The Chargers continued to control the game in the second half and cruised until the final buzzer.

Tre Stearns had nine points for the Hornets.

Booker T. Washington will look to rebound against Rogerson Thursday. Memorial travels to McLain on Friday.
