Putnam City Lady Pirates Hold off Del City

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- The Putnam City girls defeated Del City 57-48 Thursday in the first round of the Carl Albert Titan Classic.

"We had two girls come off the bench that really picked it up for us," PCO coach Courtney Pennington said. "It was just a hard fight."

Porsche Young led the Lady Pirates with 18 points, LaShawn Jones added 15 points while Jaclyn Becker added 14 points.

Del City led 29-25 at the half. The Lady Eagles kept the game was close until the early fourth quarter when PCO was able to pull away.

Rukiya Turner finished with 12 points for Del City.
