TULSA, Oklahoma -- There are 40 new Tulsa police officers on the force. The recruits graduated from the police academy Friday, July 22, the first class to graduate in two years.
The new officers went through more than 900 hours of training - everything from writing a report to officer survival.
The grads aren't quite ready to be on their own yet. They'll complete 16-weeks of training in the field before they're assigned to fill holes in the patrol division.
