TULSA, Oklahoma -- EMSA is calling an ORU nursing student an "everyday hero." On Wednesday, they honored Montika Collins for her quick action on the fourth of July.
She says she saw 4-year-old little boy flailing in a pool, but his family was around and didn't seem concerned. A short time later, the boy had sunk to the bottom of the pool.
That's when the she jumped into action, pulling him out of the pool and starting CPR.
"That was my only thing, was to keep him alive," said Montika Collins, nursing student and everyday hero.
