NEWARK, N.J. – A rough slide for the Tulsa Shock paired with a hot streak for the New York Liberty was a bad combination on Sunday night.
The Shock lost their ninth straight game with a 88-57 blowout that was rough from the start.
Unlike Friday's loss to the Sparks when Tulsa held a big lead only to give it up late, this time it trailed from the first bucket and never got back in the game.
A 12-2 run midway through the second gave New York a 15-point margin.
The Liberty outscored the Shock 21-6 in the third quarter to put the game away.
Tiffany Jackson had another strong game for Tulsa, putting up 17 points to lead the team in scoring and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Tulsa shot just 34 percent from the floor and 5-of-25 from 3-point range.
The Shock will have another long break before hosting the Atlanta Dream at 7 p.m. on July 26.
