Another very hot afternoon is expected with highs in the 100 to 110 range across the state.  Temperatures in the Tulsa metro will top out from 103 to 106 with south winds around 5 to 18 mph.  No major relief is forecasted for the next several days, but a weak upper level system has moved northwest from the Gulf of Mexico and is moving around the western periphery of the mid level ridge this morning.  This system will slowly move across western OK today and then across northern OK Tuesday into Wednesday.  A few isolated showers or storms will be possible with this feature but the coverage is expected to remain very slim.  The cloud cover associated with this system may bring some minor relief from the heat at times Tuesday and Wednesday but forecasted highs will remain in the triple digits for the week.  Morning lows will also continue to be in the upper 70s and lower 80s prompting excessive heat warnings for portions of northeastern OK.

The extended models continue to indicate some precipitin chances for the eastern sections of the state by the end of this week into the weekend but the models have been overly optimistic in the rain category for the past few weeks.  I'll mention a few isolated showers and storms at times, but the coverage will remain very low.
