TULSA, Oklahoma -- Three adults were robbed and one injured in an early morning Tulsa home robbery. It happened at about 6 a.m. at the Monterey Apartments, 17th and 79th East Avenue.
The residents told police that they heard a knock at the door and went to answer it. Four men pushed their way into the apartment through the open door.
Corporal Jeff Little said one of the intruders had a gun and fired a shot into the floor of the second story apartment. Fortunately, the bullet did not go through to the apartment below.
Police were still investigating to learn what had been taken. They say a witness saw the men leave in a small black SUV.
One of the men in the apartment was taken to a local hospital by EMSA. Police believe he was knocked down during the attack.
In another incident, a Tulsa couple was robbed inside their apartment by three men a little after 1 a.m. Sunday.
The men knocked on the door of the couple's apartment at the Meadowbrook Apartment complex at 3rd and Mingo. When the couple opened the door, three men - two tall and one short - came in.
One of the intruders was armed with a pistol, another was armed with a stun-gun. The couple's children were in another room and not aware of what happened.
The bandits picked up a trumpet, but decided not to take it. They left with cell phones and coins in two glass containers. No one was hurt.
There was no word on whether the two incidents were related.
