TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police say a teenager picked the wrong car to burglarize early Wednesday morning in an east Tulsa neighborhood.

Officers were sitting in an unmarked vehicle conducting surveillance in a neighborhood near 84th and Garnett after getting reports of thefts in the area.

At about 4:30 a.m., officers saw a car with two teens inside drive up.  One of the teens got out and began taking items from a pickup truck parked nearby.

That teen then moved to the unmarked car and attempted to break into it.  When he noticed the officers, he ran into some nearby woods.

The officers checked the teen's car and found a second teenager passed out, apparently from huffing spray paint.

Tulsa Police arrested him on a complaint of public intoxication.

With help from Broken Arrow Police they located and arrested the first teen on complaints of burglary, attempted burglary and possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.

Both suspects are 17 years old.
