BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- A Broken Arrow man shot and wounded an intruder who forced his way into a home in the 1600 block of South Fifth Street overnight Sunday, according to Sergeant Scott Lillard with the Broken Arrow Police Department.
Police say at about 1:30 a.m., an adult male forced his way into the residence, and "a confrontation occurred."
"The male resident produced a handgun and shot the intruder two times, once in the left hand and once to the left knee," Lillard said in a news release.
The intruder ran from the house and was arrested by Broken Arrow police about a block away. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the three people involved in the incident are acquaintances.
