CAMP SHELBY, Miss. (AP) -- A lightning strike at a Mississippi military base sent 77 cadets to the hospital Wednesday. The bolt struck a power pole at Camp Shelby, where Air Force Reservists were training.

There weren't enough ambulances to take all the cadets to the hospital, so most were taken on buses.

Two remained in the hospital Wednesday night, the other 75 were checked out and released.

About 3,000 members of the Oklahoma National Guard are also at Camp Shelby, preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan, but no Oklahoma soldiers were injured in Wednesday's incident.

Camp Shelby is a joint forces training base near Hattiesburg.
