Man Slips Off Rocks, Drowns In Lake Eufaula

MCINTOSH COUNTY – A Checotah man drowned Wednesday after falling into Lake Eufaula in McIntosh County.

Authorities said Troy Haynes, 49, was looking for his dog when he walked down a rough trail to the shoreline. Haynes, who had physical disabilities from a previous stroke, slipped off the rocks and fell into the water, authorities said.

Troopers said Haynes drowned in two feet of water.  His body was recovered near the south shoreline.
