That was weird.
OSUs first 5 three-point attempts finding nothing but the bottom of the net.
Sure-thing Keiton Page MISSING the front end of a one and one with 16 seconds left in a one-point game.
Markel Brown re-twisting an ankle with 10 seconds left and not being able to continue his great defensive effort on Nebraskas Lance Jeter in the final sequence.
And then, Jeter, falling down in the lane to end things.
A good friend texted me after the game, simply saying "and all of Pawnee exhales."
If games were only 10 minutes long, then the Cowboys could have been considered one of the best in the Big 12 on Wednesday. Great ball movement, good shooting, solid defense. Extending that effort for 40 minutes was impossible, but re-gathering themselves for the final 6 minutes wasnt.
Now the Cowboys get to play Kansas.
How much is left in the tank? And if OSU cant muster similar offensive stretches will it matter?
Valid questions, but in this season the 53-52 victory is something to be proud of.
Thursday can wait.
But only for a few hours.
